Full Time PG programme: M.E.- CAD/CAM
This course is conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The department was established in 1987. The department is accredited by N.B.A. The department has state of the art computing facilities. The department has connectivity to internet and supercomputer PARAM. The department has the CAD/CAM softwares like CATIA V5, MasterCAM 9.1, Solidworks and AutoCAD. The department has the range of operating systems like WINDOWS, Windows XP, etc. The department shares the MATLAB software available with the institute. The department has CNC trainer and Robot as the part of its CAD/CAM and robotics laboratory. The department has the strong team of 24 faculty members.
Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) with its two important components-CAD and CAM has become the indispensable tools of the manufacturing industries. Extensive job opportunities are available in this area. This course contains the advanced subjects like CAD, CAM, Mechatronics, Finite Element Analysis and Robotics.
ANNAUL INTAKE
Total annual intake for this full-time M.E. course in CAD/CAM as per the approval of AICTE is18 (General Category 10 + Sponsored 5 + SC/ST 3)
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
A.
GENERAL
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial/ Automobile engineering with at least 55% marks from AICTE approved institution
B.
SPONSORED CANDIDATES
(i)
The minimum percentage of marks may be waived for those who are teachers either in Engineering college or Polytechnic joined before 28-02-1989, the date on which the circular was issued prescribing the AICTE pay scales and qualifications.
Preference will be given to those candidates who are GATE qualified.
(ii)
The candidate must have a minimum two years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/ company/ industry/ educational and research institutions/ any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organizations in the relevant field.
(iii)
There is no age restriction for admission. However preference will be given to the candidates who are below 45 years of age.
(iv)
Mode of selection shall be as per admission procedure prescribed.
(v)
A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to pursue higher studies. The employer should also indicate that the candidates will not be withdrawn midway till the completion of the course.
C.
NON-SPONSORED CANDIDATES
(i)
Admission for Non-sponsored category students will be made through GATE. (If GATE qualified candidates are not available, admission will be offered to Non-GATE candidates as per admission procedure).
(ii)
A GATE qualified student does not automatically become eligible to receive a Scholarship. Scholarship to a GATE qualified student will depend on sanction from AICTE.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admission to Non-GATE students will be done on the basis of performance of the candidate at the entrance examination, which includes written test of one-hour duration followed by an interview conducted by the department.
The purpose of the written test is to assess the undergraduate preparation of the candidate. Emphasis will be on his/her understanding of concepts in basic science, engineering science and applied engineering. The broad scope of the written test will be based on the courses in undergraduate curriculum
APPLICATION
The duly completed application forms along with the copies of the relevant documents must reach the office of the Principal on or before the prescribed Date and Time with a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- drawn infavour of “Principal, College Of Engineering, Badnera, payable at Badnera.”
The list of the eligible candidates will be displayed at the department. The eligible candidates shall appear for the entrance examination according to the schedule. Only those candidates who qualify for the written test will be interviewed. The department will display the list of selected candidates for admission. The candidates from Confirm list should pay the requisite fees by the due Date and Time, otherwise their claim for the admission to the said course will be forfeited. If the seats from the confirm list are not filled, the candidates from the Waiting List will be given the chance on first come first basis.
No separate correspondence in connection with the Written test/ Interview or offer of the admission shall be made to the individual candidate by the college. Therefore, it is in the interest of each candidate to keep in touch with the departmental Notice Boards or other means for any admission notice.
Candidates appearing for the written test or the interview will have to meet their own expenses.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES ATTENDING TEST & INTERVIEWS
1. The result of interview may be declared on the same date. If offered admission, fees and deposits will have to be paid by the due date and time. In default of payment of fees by the prescribed date, the offer of admission may be withdrawn.
2. The college reserves the right to withdraw the admission in case a candidate does not possess the minimum qualification and experience or for supply of any information which was found incorrect.
3. The fees and other deposits can be paid either by crossed Demand Draft made in the name of “The Principal, College of Engineering, Badnera” payable at SBI Badnera, or By the Bank Challan available at the college office.
4. The student seeking admission under the Category of foreign nationals/ PIOs /NRI shall be required to seek permission from the Honorable High Court, Maharashtra State.
FEES:
Tuition Fees Rs. 45,000/- per year, In addition to above fees the University fees prescribed by the University are to be paid from time to time. The fee structure is provisional and subjected to the approval from competent agency.
